FAQs

Q: What is the mission of Carlson Women’s Network?

A: Carlson Women’s Network aims to provide meaningful relationships to support the personal and professional advancement of women in the Carlson School of Management Part-Time MBA Program.

Q: Can I get involved with CWN?

A: Yes!  We always welcome involvement in the CWN.  To get invovled, reach out to [email protected].  The leadership team is responsible for putting on the annual event, Women, Wine & Wisdom, which is a Ted Talk-style speaker series that typically takes place in the fall (during the 2020-2021 school year, this event will take place during the spring).  Over the last couple years, more than 100 people have attended annually, so this is a large and well-received event!  Reach out to the board to get involved, work closely and form relationships with other Part-Time MBA students, help plan this year’s Women, Wine & Wisdom, and coordinate additional events throughout the school year.

Q: What is the time commitment?

A: The CWN board typically meets once a month.  More meetings take place as needed for planning and executing events.  Historically, since Women, Wine & Wisdom took place in the fall there was more time invested during that semester.

Q: What could I gain from getting involved?

A: The opportunity to work with external partners on sponsorship, catering, ticket sales, marketing and communications, student/alumni engagement and coordination of this large event are all excellent opportunities for leadership experience to add to your resume.  Additionally, working closely with the team of board members and other Carlson faculty, Student Affairs office and student groups allows for the opportunity to form great connections and expand your network.

Q: What CWN board positions are available?

A: At this time, all board positions are filled.  We still certainly welcome involvement to those who are interested!  To get invovled, reach out to [email protected].

Q: Where/How/When can I apply for the board?

A: Following the 2020-2021 school year, we will provide information regarding how to apply for the board for the following school year.
