As women, we play many different roles every day – often simultaneously – at work, at home, in the community and in our relationships with family, friends and colleagues. Somewhere along the way, it became commonplace to expect ourselves to be perfect in all of them. How can we evolve, and course correct to be more brave than perfect?

What does the World Need from Women Leaders Today?
Articles abound on why the world needs more women leaders. Women are fueling entrepreneurship; they are pounding on the glass ceiling to be let into the C-suites and boardrooms. But besides getting a seat at the table, what are the game-changers that make women’s leadership a powerful and unstoppable force? In this talk, Ginny Belden-Charles shared insights from her work with women leaders on three factors that strengthen women's leadership presence:

  1. Knowing what you’re made of - your values and purposes
  2. Facing the tensions with intention - staying focused and not getting hooked
  3. Courageously challenging the harmful narratives - that limit you, others, your organization and keep you from being your most creative and generative self

Speaker's Bio:
Dr. Ginny Belden-Charles is a consultant, coach, facilitator and educator working with leaders to find coherent direction in that face of complex challenges. Her projects range from strategic planning, leadership development and team coaching  to designing and facilitating large, multi-sector, global projects on complex social issues.  She is an advisor to the board of the Taos Institute and an advisor in the Taos Institute PhD program in partnership with several European universities.  She cofounded the Women’s Leadership Community and its Women in Leadership development program, now in its 21st year.  She completed her PhD on women’s leadership and speaks on ways women can bring more vision, voice and values into their work.
